Installing WordPress plugins is not difficult. Welcome to another part of blog series “how to start blog” In previous blog “Important Things Need to Done After Installing WordPress Blog” we have covered what to do after you install fresh WordPress. In this part we will learn how to install plugins in WordPress website. WordPress is known as mature content management system. Which is also called CMS is in short. Installing WordPress plugins require some technical know how specially for self-hosted new bloggers.

There are some methods to install WordPress plugins which is offered by WordPress.

1)Upload and Install WordPress plugin

1)Upload and Install WordPress plugin from WordPress :

WordPress Plugin can be installed by upload .zip file in case you have found some useful WordPress plugins from internet and you want to install this plugin in to your WordPress website. Simply find an option Plugins in Right Menu and Select “Add New”. You will see “Upload Plugin” on that page. Click on it and find that .zip file from your computer to upload. You are done.Consider as WordPress install plugin without ftp.

2)Search and Install WordPress plugin from WordPress :

This is the coolest feature of WordPress. Whatever plugin you required just go to Plugin menu from Right and on that screen click on Add New and Find a search box which is on right top. Enter whatever plugin name and search for it. If it exist it will show in there. In this case, I searched for Yoast SEO and I found below screenshot results: You can find “More Details” to see more information about this plugin.Please check that this plugin is compatible with your current version of WordPress. Also,Before installing the plugin read the documentation. If all ok then simply click on“Install Now” and then “Activate” the plugin Now you can see this WordPress Plugin in your Plugins Screen. Click on Setting of that Specific WordPress plugin to configure it. Consider as WordPress install plugin without ftp.

3)FTP (Filezilla,Cuteftp,Cyberduck)

Let discuss about last topic Install WordPress plugin via FTP in case you are unable to install WordPress plugin from WordPress dashboard. First download plugin from WordPress plugin library, Unzip it and upload it to your WordPress plugin library via FTP software FileZilla ,CuteFTP or CyberDuck. The plugin folder is usually located under wp-content/plugins. If you are the person who don’t have access to install plugin or themes from dashboard due to any reason. This is very convenient way to install Wordpress plugins for you. Go to WordPress dashboard and activate the plugin. FileZilla and CyberDuck are one of easy software to use.I will suggest you to use CyberDuck and FileZilla for FTP.
